Start with the need
Engineers solve problems for people, so they start by understanding the problem.
Before building anything, engineers ask: Who needs this? What problem does it solve? What are the limits — money, time, materials, safety?
These limits are called constraints. Good designs work well inside them.
A clear problem statement keeps the whole team focused.
